Container storage area
Thanks to its concrete-related properties, DUCON is also suitable for waterproofing surfaces in accordance with the German Water Resources Act (WHG) and the German Water Protection Ordinance (AwSv).
In this project, a DUCON layer (> 6,000 m², d = 5.5 cm, largely jointless) was installed as a WHG-compliant waterproofing and base layer in the outdoor area of a chemical company. Hazardous substances are to be stored on the surface, so the layer must meet high waterproofing requirements.
The three 2,000 m² seamless sections must meet the following requirements:
- Impermeability to hazardous substances
- Limited crack width under high temperature differentials (70°C)
- High impact resistance and abrasion resistance under continuous loading
- High load-bearing capacity under high point loads from steel rollers and container feet
