Sophisticated design components beyond classic (reinforced) concrete construction

The fine, high-strength DUCON concrete not only allows for free formability, but also provides a high-quality, durable surface with almost unlimited design possibilities. In addition to large-format components such as facade panels, these properties can also be used on a smaller scale for sophisticated design components.

Our folded staircase is an impressive example of the design products we offer. Unlike classic reinforced concrete staircases, it does not have a continuous slab, resulting in a filigree folded structure. This usually spans the entire floor height from the bottom step to the top step and does not require any additional intermediate supports. Compared to a conventional reinforced concrete staircase, this staircase has up to a 60% reduction in weight and cross-section. The tread thickness for floor-to-ceiling staircases is usually 10-12 cm (4-5 in). Our folded plate staircases are not mass-produced, but are manufactured as one-offs for each individual project, allowing us to tailor each request to the customer's specific requirements.

The unique properties of DUCON technology open up completely new fields of application for designers. DUCON concrete can be used to manufacture products that are normally made from other building materials. Furniture such as tables, chairs, benches, counters, and countertops, as well as sculptures, fireplace mantels, and planters can all be made from DUCON concrete. There are virtually no limits to the imagination in terms of shape, color, and surface finish.
