Diversity of concrete

The fine, high-strength DUCON concrete enables a high-quality, durable surface with almost unlimited design possibilities in addition to free formability.

The self-compacting mortar is able to adapt to any shape. This means that, in addition to flat slabs, angled or curved elements can also be produced. DUCON has already been able to demonstrate these properties in numerous projects and research projects, such as the curved shell structure 'Parapluie'.

Not only are there (almost) no limits to the shape, the surface design also offers a wide range of variants. This ranges from smooth or polished surfaces to acid-etched, blasted or washed surfaces with a significantly rougher texture. Designing with textured formliners is also no problem. The fine mortar provides a closed, non-porous appearance.

It is also possible to use our material as a substrate for less powerful materials such as natural stone or glass. DUCON is attached to the back of these materials using special fasteners, resulting in components that combine the visual appearance of the facing material with the advantages (load-bearing capacity, large format, etc.) of our high-performance material.

The standard color of our concrete is a classic gray. However, different aggregates can also be used to create colors ranging from white to gray/anthracite to black, or even a colorful coloring upon customer request.

An impressive example of our designer products is our folding staircase. Unlike classic reinforced concrete stairs, the continuous slab is dispensed with to create a filigree folded structure. Other examples include sculptures and concrete furniture such as benches, table tops, counters, fireplace covers and planters.
