The ECB’s (European Central Bank) former branch in the Eurotower (Frankfurt am Main) was protected with DUCON in the event of a terrorist attack. To this end, the building’s main columns were reinforced with DUCON cladding to withstand explosive loads, in order to prevent “progressive collapse” in the event of an emergency. The column retrofitting allowed the existing columns to be strengthened effectively and with minimal material expenditure.
