Completion of Schwanthalerhöhe Shopping Quarter Munich

White concrete facade made of DUCON, 30 mm thin

Already at the beginning of April, the façade of the shopping quarter located at the Theresienwiese in the Schwanthalerhöhe in Munich was completely attached and can be enjoyed in its full splendor since then. On about 2,300 square meters, more than 1,200 individual white concrete panels from DUCON characterize the appearance of the building. Since the final completion and opening of the Quartierzentrum on June 6, 2019, visitors can use the newly structured area for retail and gastronomy.

The building, originally used as a furniture store, was acquired by the Hanseatische Betreuung- und Beteiligungsgesellschaft (HBB) and converted into a shopping quarter. Together with the adjacent local supply center of Bayrische Hausbau it acts as Forum Schwanthalerhöhe. The aim of the planning was to coordinate the content of the two centers.

The project, which is geared towards sustainability and diversity, has an investment volume of around EUR 240 million.
