With regard to resistance to explosion and bombardment, DUCON® can be designed with half the component thickness and thus half the component weight compared to conventional reinforced concrete, and thus has 4 times the performance of reinforced concrete with the same protective effect. Under certain circumstances, the component thickness can even be reduced to one third (9 times the performance of reinforced concrete).
