Textile-reinforced concrete

Textile-reinforced concrete is a composite material consisting of a fine concrete matrix and a two-dimensional textile reinforcement. This consists of technical high-performance fibers such as alkali-resistant glass, carbon or synthetic plastics.

DUCON® has leapfrogged the evolutionary stage of textile-reinforced concrete. The high-performance composite material has been implementing what the textile-reinforced concretes have been striving for 20 years. Due to the high cost of carbon, ecotoxicology, limited recycling possibilities and the lack of adjustability of the material, DUCON® made a conscious decision to use steel reinforcement. In addition, DUCON GmbH has held a property right for the multilayer reinforcement structure consisting of carbon, glass fiber or steel mesh since 2008.
