The innovative DUCON® technology is suitable for protection against terrorist attacks due to its very high load-bearing capacity combined with extreme ductility. The combined material properties allow the high-performance composite material to absorb the greatest dynamic loads and also avoid the debris throw that occurs with reinforced concrete components.
As a rule of thumb for dynamic loads, DUCON® can be designed with half the component thickness and half the weight compared to reinforced concrete. This corresponds to 4 times the performance of reinforced concrete.
