Dyckerhoff Förderpreis 2018 goes to the development of DUCON White

The Dyckerhoff Förderpreis for concrete technology goes to our student David Holzäpfel in 2018.

In collaboration with the Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences and DUCON Europe, David Holzäpfel conducted extensive experiments in the context of his bachelor thesis on the development of a high-strength white concrete (DUCON White).

“From the industrial side, David Holzäpfel received support from Dr.-Ing. Stephan Hauser of Ducon Europe GmbH & Co. KG in Darmstadt. The jury considered the work to be “worthy of praise” because the author had succeeded in doing so with the help of independently planned experimental laboratory tests to present the performance of white ultra-high performance concrete clearly and demonstrate its suitability for DUCON technology.” so the ingenieurmagazin on April, 22nd 2018. Further is said: “The jury also considered the extraordinarily careful independent working method of the author in both the grading of the bachelor thesis with 1.0 and in awarding the first prize.”
